Title of Bulletin Board: Durant Challenge: Improve Your Upper Body Strength

Category: Fitness

Suggested Grade Level: 6-8

Materials: Access to clipart, and images search engine, color printer, quotes on fitness

The bulletin board shows students the muscles of the upper body and lists exercises and as little equipment as possible that can be used to increase their upper body strength. Almost all of the exercises listed can be completed at home without the need for weights or much need for other equipment. As the picture shows, we wanted our students to focus on the muscles of the arms, abdominal area, and the back. Color pictures were used so that students could located the muscle. Each muscle chart has workouts to target the specific muscles.
Pictures found via Google Search and MS Word clipart. Students are guided through all listed workouts throughout the year during warm-ups and class fitness activities.
